One of the challenges of resurrecting old sites is the behinds the scenes stuff that goes on. My old blogging program gave a confusing mess of numbers to identify entries. As I copy paste the old posts from Pagan Vigil and list the old addy near the top of the page, it’s important to keep referencing to make sure the address matches.

www.paganvigil.com/C49491493/E20070728130911 turns into http://www.paganvigil.com/files/FaithPublicSphere070728.html.

Converting is monotonous more than anything else, especially when it comes to making sure I get the old file name right. Then’s it just a matter of putting a new redirect page at the old location. That’s pretty simple.

I can’t give an example of a redirect page in text because RapidWeaver will read it as code. Fortunately that is what pictures are for.
