Tue - November 15, 2005 Pagan Vigil Entry Page BannerAfter a lot of work, I finally got an entry
page banner running for Pagan Vigil. I had originally wanted one that would
combine navigation and location, but I had never managed to get something to
overcome the dark link code on the dark background without resorting to the FONT
tag.
I made the original version of this banner for teknologi, but I think this one works better. Famous last words. It doesn't do what I wanted it to do. So I threw in an extra style code of HW on the actual entry page and tagged the category link.

style sheet.
www.teknopagan.com Sun - November 13, 2005 Website hackThere is one trick that I am really proud of.
It dates back to earlier versions of Technopagan Yearnings. When I spotted the
effect, I knew I was doing something "wrong," but I realized I could use it for
psychological effect.
Normally you want your pages to load as fast as possible because if the site isn't mostly loaded in 30 seconds, the viewer thinks about going to another site. The pre-blog versions of TPY were VERY graphics intensive and I was always trying to get around it.
www.teknopagan.com Sat - November 12, 2005 Redirect/Frame PageHere is an example of my Redirect/Frame Pages.
Obviously I want folks to be redirected, but just in case they aren't, the page
creates a frame to host the real site. That way I don't have to use multiple
hosts for each site. Down at the bottom of the entry you'll find the complete
code, but I will walk through this step by
step.
We start with the HTML and HEAD tags obviously.

Hello There
This is my no frills blog to cover all the gadgets and gizmos and technology that makes 21st Century life so exciting. Think of it as a messy set of notes that I keep for myself on all sorts of topics. It's really intended for my personal use, but I will explain sometimes as I go along.
My passion is for Macintosh and other Apple products, but I will use others as needed. If my notes and experiences can help or amuse you, so much the better. Categories
