At the end of the last season, I wondered if Mythbusters had finally gone into the death spiral.

I’d been a fan since midway through the first season. I loved the concept and I loved the chemistry between Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman. It was one of the best working relationships I’d seen.

I liked the Build team, and I think they should have been spun off into their own series instead of being axed, but that was just me.

When I head that the new season was going to focus on the myths from The Simpsons, I cringed. I had about decided to give up on the series. Some of the episodes the last few seasons just hadn’t been all that good.

Then I watched this Tested dot com segment where Adam discussed the reboot (and all the cameras they use now). I decided to give it a try.

I think this reboot is going to work. They’re back to two stories, which means a lot of the project building is back on camera.

Things to watch for: Adam’s custom Leatherman holster and Jamie’s funky steel overboot thingys.

I still think their production company should bring back the seasons for their DVDs.
