PhoneMagic on the TX Review

This reliable program works just fine on a Palm TX. But there are at least two things I wish it could do.

I talked about PhoneMagic before here, it has three enormous strengths against the regular Contacts program.

First is the Virtual Link, which means you can put <brackets> around a name (as long as it is spelled the same) and look up the contact information from almost any application that lets you save and manipulate text.

Second is the Smart Lookup function, which blows away the standard Find.

Third is the recently looked up numbers.

For my purposes, it also has a phone dialer. For someone who doesn't have a cell phone, that is a valuable tool.

PhoneMagic does have one major drawback though. It can't make calls to the browser or to the webmail. In all fairness, the standard Contacts program can only do with with two designated fields and doesn't let you do that with any other custom fields. That is the only failure I can see in an otherwise great program though.
