Location field in OS X calendar

UPDATED

In the calendar, the location field has phone number first, company name, then enter the address like this:
415-771-6222…Greens Restaurant…Building A, Fort Mason Center San Francisco CA 94123

I actually save the … as a shortcut on my iOS devices, it’s a single character instead of three. Triple period on my iPad gives me an ellipsis. For OS X, the ellipsis comes from the option and : keys.

In list view on Fantastical, I can see the event name, the phone number for the place, and I can access directions easily. This may seem like a bit too much trouble, but the first time you need to find the event place on your iPhone, it makes tremendous sense.

For purchases in the calendar, the location field on purchases has receipt name. The receipt name starts with year-month-dom, then period, then company name, then transaction or order number. Date is always date of purchase.

I’m going to cover more with paperless organizing later.

A no frills blog covering some things that make 21st Century life so exciting. Think of it as a messy set of notes that I keep for myself on all sorts of topics. It's really intended for my personal use, but I will explain sometimes as I go along.

My passion is for Macintosh and other Apple products, but I will use others as needed.
