Harry Knowles of Ain't It Cool News has a
posted a review of the Spider II GX Laser from WickedLasers.com.
Now I have drooled over the web page of this laser before. What self-respecting geek wouldn't want "the world's most powerful handheld laser?" The beam has a fifteen mile range, it can burn through paper and some wood. Only two things have kept me from buying one. I can't justify spending the money on a laser and for the life of me I don't know what I would do with it. I mean, once you've one upped all the local geeks, what is it going to do except gather dust most of the time? I have five laser pointers NOW I don't use, two built into pen/stylus combos that I use for my Palm. Anyway, Harry has a couple of film clips on his review of the laser popping balloons and burning a hole through paper. If anyone ever develops a handheld energy weapon that can slag a car, I am SO there! |
