Palm TX drawbacks (after some use)


Not everything is fun and games with the TX, now affectionately named TiXi. There are some places where Palm really really goofed. What's the fun of having a blog if I can't point some of these out?

One of the big things is the MultiConnecter. It's pretty obvious that this thing isn't designed to get a lot of use. With SD cards and Bluetooth connectivity, this isn't as big a drawback as it could be, but still.

Bluetooth is way too slow for big file transfers. If you get more than five feet or so away, the TX has to be facing in a certain direction.

Two card slots would have been nice, and extremely useful.

Whose bright idea was it to ship this sucker without a holster of any kind? My annoyance at CompUSA aside, it would be nice if I could put the thing on my belt where I prefer to carry my Palm.

I am sure that there is some advantage to this five way navigation thingy, but it took me about a half hour to get DateBk6 to work the way I wanted with it. It is annoying in the other programs too.

I still don't like Graffitti2.
